We are going to record our investigations in our composition books by listing facts about each of the following topics and then write a paragraph summary for each as well:
1. Thor
2. The Flying Dutchman
3. Kraken
4. Ra
5. Any Amulet you find interesting, it does NOT have to be one of the samples on the task page. I provided these in case you want to use or need suggestions but you may choose another. As long as you have answered the questions with appropriate research / information and provided a good paragraph... then great!
Answer each of the following questions, keep in mind you need at least a 4-5 sentence paragraph on each so record as much information as you can for good paragraph structure and summary. You will be graded on the completion of the below questions as well, use complete sentences and grammar while conducting your research. This will help your note taking skills and produce a better paragraph when you're ready to write a summary of each. Incomplete note taking / answers make paragraph writing more difficult, so... take your time and organize. You may answer the questions first, then write a paragraph or you may answer all questions first then write the paragraphs at the end of the answered question.
Questions to be answered on each of the 5 subjects:
1. Who or what civilization created the myth, legend, symbol or god. (Country, Region, People, Greek, Roman)
2. Have you heard of or seen this "thing" before? If so, where. How often, does it exist in every day life now, the movies, or commonly seen elsewhere?
3. An approximate time frame the myth was formed.
4. What was this "thing" used for, known for or supposed to do or have done.
After answering the above four questions on the five topics be sure to complete one paragraph on each of the 5 researched "things". Be detailed in your explanations. You'll be turning in a total of five paragraphs and your completed answers for each subject in your composition book. You will be graded on your research and paragraphs. Refer to the evaluation page to make sure you have completed the assignment correctly.
